WMES members enjoying a seaside visit to Southport MES 'Diesel Day'
From Alan Pennell
Barry Harrison with grandson Ben Williams took their recently finished loco class 14 and Dave Morris his Baby Deltic. In both cases this was their first visit to another society's track.
The day was typical glorious seaside weather with bright sunshine and an on-shore breeze.
Our stalwarts kept running till the end at about 5pm with very satisfied grins on their faces. Public were also hauled. I took my Baby Deltic but it failed to start due to broken leads within the umbilical plug so it sat forlornly on the steaming bay all day.
